About Us
I am excited to bring to you our most beloved dahlia tubers, grown with love and care on our micro-farm.
WHO WE ARE
I currently grow flowers on less than 1/2 acre in Monmouth County, NJ with the help of my husband who offers a lot of physical labor, creative ideas, planning and support. I share bouquets during the year to our community through special orders or our various CSAs, as well as offer flowers for events. I recently joined with two flower farmers to create a local flower collective that is gearing up to bring our blooms to the Fair Haven Farmers Market, opening up May 2024. I offer dahlia bouquets through the season as well as offer a dahlia grow along for those who need a little extra support. I also teach a local dahlia course at a community college.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
We started out by growing veggies for our farm to table recipe blog, Little Bites of Joy. Knowing the importance of pollination, we surrounded our veggie patch with flowers and two dahlias that were given to us by a friend (currently lovingly named "our first pink dinnerplate" and "our coral mystery", both available in our shop). Over the years, the flowers grew and grew and consequently took over the veggie garden, and we fell in love with them. Since then, I primarily grow flowers for the community (and some veggies for our family).
WHAT WE CARE ABOUT
I take in mind the health of the soil, pollinators and many active critters in our environment and use no chemicals or pesticides. We do everything by hand, from planting, to digging, inspecting, dividing and storing.
There is no better feeling growing something from seed or tuber, tending to it, watching it grow and bloom. It's the most indescribable feeling of peace and love and purpose. Dahlias have quickly won my heart and I hope they win your heart as well.
THANK YOU!
As a member of the American Dahlia Society and a fellow dahlia lover, I wanted to thank you for your support of our little farm!
